singularity

i am an unstable element.

in the periodic table, i am among the halogens – the most restless of gases, always yearning to make connections and move particles on a fundamental, nuclear level. my electrons are always on the edge – teetering on the brink of evolution, of constant chrysalis.

in normal temperature, my kind exist in all states of matter: air, water, earth.

like moth to a flame, i am irresistibly drawn to things of faith and science. i believe they are extrapolations and multiple forks of the same primeval truth.

i am in awe of the universe and how it manifests itself as life and light and space. i like to trip the laws of gravity and find balance in flight and fall.

here i sift through my collisions with the cosmos and reveal my gnawing, if not edified thoughts about them.

here i gasp at the awesomeness of what we have and what we stand to lose pretending to be blind.

all to celebrate just how wonderful it is to be a sentient accident of the universe.

this is me.
a spark of energy, reaching out to the expanse, on the verge of the big bang.
